I was reading a blog by Don Reisinger about the agreement recently made between Hallmark Television and Google. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17939_109-10112530-2.html. He explains, “Instead of employing conventional techniques for television advertising, Google takes its online model and applies that to the medium. The company aims to provide greater relevancy by using proprietary targeting tools and an auction-based pricing system, which only costs advertisers when impressions are delivered to their ads.” Sounds like an interesting new take on advertising. I wonder if this new process will gain in popularity.

Impending Strike
Posted in Uncategorized on December 1, 2008 by Robert GerhardtThe Screen Actors Guild has been debating recently on whether to go on strike. This column by Vince Horiuchi of the Salt Lake Tribune details how the strike could be hazardous to the television world as well as the economy. http://www.sltrib.com/columnists/ci_11080105 . He says that the recent writers’ strike cost California over 2.1 billion dollars and the actors strike could do much worse. This has bad news written all over it with the economy as poor as it is. Hopefully the actors can come to an agreement soon.
